The Junkyard Standard Lead is a premium lead that combines durability, style, and sustainability. Handmade in Detroit MI from upcycled fabrics from the car industry, the raw materials are of the highest quality. It features a beautifully soft leather handle and high-quality metalwork and stitching.

The lead is 6 feet (180cm) long and 2cm wide and is available in Onyx Black, Petoskey Stone Grey, and Jasper Copper. Note that, due to the origin of the materials used, colours other than black may vary slightly from the images shown. If you want to be sure, we can send you a photo of the actual item you will recieve before we dispatch.

This is part of the Pingree Detroit pet range. Pingree Detroit are a majority worker-owned, carbon-neutral business based in Michigan USA. They take materials from the city’s world famous auto industry and upcycle them into high-quality, robust products with a focus on style and practicality. Everything is handmade to the highest standards by former military veterans and long-term unemployed Detroitians.

A great product that creatively holds sustainability at its heart, we believe you won’t find a lead that looks this good, lasts as long, and is this comfortable to use. The combination of super-strong seatbelt webbing for the lead and soft, durable car interior leather for the handle is inspired – and you’ll be surprised at just how uncomfortable the handle of your old nylon or rope lead is in comparison.
All owners know the importance of a good lead, and a lead this strong offers extra reassurance when out for walks, and especially when training a dog. These leads are some of the sturdiest available, but if your dog is pulling excessively, it’s important to understand why and to undertake training, rather than just investing in a stronger lead.

Leather and suede are natural products and whilst resilient, they need to be maintained. For the everyday cleaning of leather, use a sensitive hand soap. Never use harsh chemicals. For more ingrained dirt, and for an annual clean, use saddle soap and a brush. For suede, use specialised suede cleaning products.
The lead is 6 feet (180cm) long and approximately 2cm wide and is suitable for most sizes and breeds of dog.
Shipping costs apply – £5.50 for items upto 2kg; £7.50 for items between 2kg and 10kg; £9 for bulky/large items.

Your Junkyard Lead will be dispatched within five working days of order. If there is a stock issue or you have ordered other items with which there is an issue, we will contact you. If you are not satisfied with Junkyard Lead, or if the product (but not the packaging) is damaged in dispatch, please contact us within 14 days of receipt with details (including photos if appropriate) and we will process a replacement or refund as quickly as possible.
